When we got engaged last July I was 23 & he’d just turned 25 (I was 24 last weekend) and we were spending a year travelling in Australia. I absolutely adore my ring, it wasn’t that expensive I don’t think (although I actually don’t know the specs/price and I’d like to keep it that way), he wouldn’t have spent a fortune but if he did I would have killed him first, then changed it! Being away travelling and seeing the value of money, having so many things we want to do (like more travelling, buy a house etc etc) and me being ‘the breadwinner’ (I have a BA(hons) degree in marketing, whereas he doesn’t really know what he wants to do yet and hasn’t just ‘picked’ someething lol) means that we don’t want to spend money excessively on other things, so our wedding will involve a lot of DIY and our rings/my dress will be done on a budget and to suit us. Everyone that knows me has said that he did a fabuous job of picking a ring that is so ‘me’, really different to pretty much everything else out there and with a bit of a vintage twist (I do like a vintage twist).
And without further ado, my gorgeous ring!
ETA: When we got engaged we’d been together almost 6 years, but it was still an absolute shock as we’re still quite young and wasn’t expecting it at all (absolutely thrilled though!!!) and I don’t think I’d upgrade in the future (unless I lost it which is possible because I can be a bit of a scatterbrain….hehe)

My Fiance and I are older (I’m 29 he’s 28) but we found a ring that was very budget friendly:
I absolutely love it! So it goes to show that you can find a great ring without having to go into a ton of debt!

I’m 24, out of college and currently bartending while my fiance is finishing up some military training. I never wanted a diamond. I was originally planning on getting a yellow sapphire, but the jeweler I went to only used white. It’s my birthstone, so I think that makes it more sentimental. My ring is a 2 ct. white sapphire with .75 cts of diamonds in 18K white and yellow gold.

My Fiance and I are both 24 year old college students I am finishing up a nursing degree full time and he is part-time undergrad with about 3 more semesters left. We were really broke and have a lot of student loans so we were not able to afford much. My ring is my mom’s center stone from her engagement ring and then I picked out my own ring. We plan on upgrading the stone to something that is more our own once we have more money. It’s 1.10 tcw the center is a .75 and the ring itself is from blue nile and it is .35ct.
