I’m 23. My boyfriend has a great job, owns a house and we both have cars and things we’d otherwise be saving for. I’m a hairdresser so I work on the side but he’s able to pay all of the bills on his own. Being that we are young, i didn’t expect any type of large ring but when we really sat down and looked it over, we agreed on a small, inexpensive wedding, where we could put the bulk of our money into the diamond. Even though we don’t plan to get married for at least two years or so, I would rather a larger stone, and a smaller wedding, but that’s just me. Anyway, he already had a plain Tiffany’s band that belonged to his grandmother, so we only had to purchase the stone. We didn’t get engaged yet, but when the stone came I couldn’t help but take a million pictures of it. Just seeing the stone on its own does not do it justice and my boyfriend convinced me it would look a lot bigger once it was in a setting. So, being crazy I decided to “fun-tack” the diamond to a band I had lying around. The fun-tack makes the stone look poor quality but it is actually stunning in person. Its a 3.11 carat pear on my 5.5 finger, with a band thats obviously way too large. We’re in the process of having it put in the setting and adding a halo. Lol sorry for rambling! And sorry for the huge picture, I don’t know how to resize. ๐Ÿ™

I’m 23 and my fiancé is 24. We just got engaged march 10, 2013! We just used our tax return money to buy our rings. We didn’t want to use credit so this was the perfect way! We have been together for over 6 years now and plan to be married next February!

My e-ring is a 1 1/4 CTW Moissanite center with diamond accents. We purchased from overstock.com and got an incredible deal.

@farmgirl123:  I’m so in love with your ring! So beautiful, vintage and feminine! ๐Ÿ™‚ โค โค โค

Here’s mine:

I’m 21 & Fiance is 22. Fiance had some nice savings, but my ring was only between 300 and 400. We’re both graduating this year & looking to start working.

Here’s mine- 1ct heirloom stone. He had put about 12k aside for my ring when we were offered it, so we decided to save the money.

ETA I was 21 and he was 22 when we got engaged, I was still in school and he had been working for 5 months. He had saved from working in college, and we were both living at home with no debt at this point.

I am 20 and fiance, eeeek, is 30 but he just started working last year and has some serious student loans to pay off and I know he saved a good deal for my little lady. Just got engaged on tuesday and I am obssessed with my ring!

Marquise 0.87 vs1, I color very very good cut, tcw is 1.3 and it sparkles so much!! I think I’ve said “its sparkly” about 40 times since I got it!

I dont know if I would upgrade, maybe to the full 1.00 ct to make it an even number (A tad of OCD) or upgrade to 1.07 to make the tcw 1.5. and definitely upgrade to a higher color grade, I have only noticed the warmth in some pictures and once or twice IRL but I have also become super attached to it so the jury is still out on the upgrade and the color doesnt bother me that much to make a decision about it lol

Love this post btw!

My boyfriend is 21 and I am 20. I’m in school and he is working as much as he can. Between the plane tickets and fiancé visa, we’re pretty strapped for cash (he’s English), so we found this lovely sparkly for a steal. It’s very dainty and sparkly~ perfect for my active lifestyle. Paired it with this band for fun~ my wedding band will be an infinity-band we saw on overstock xD So final product will be a mismatched stacking look ๐Ÿ˜€

sorry the pic is so huge. I’m on my phone and can’t resize.

When Darling Husband and I got engaged I was 18 (had just graduated high school) and he was 20 (starting his 3rd year of undergrad).  Darling Husband had been doing summer interships and working for the student center during the year.  My center stone is 1/4c but I don’t remember what the rest of the diamonds total.  I do know that the ring costed about $900.  We’ve been married for 7 years and Darling Husband just upgraded my ring.  It’s currently being sized though so I don’t have a pic of it on my hand.

My original ring (sorry for the crappy cellphone pic)-

Upgraded ring (Le Vian 1.75tcw.  Center stone 1c princess cut with cushion halo.

@Tsuki56: Thank You!  I’m hoping that Darling Husband will buy me a matching band that I can wear on the top of my new set for our 10 year anniversary.  He said he would but we’ll see if he remembers!
