- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
Here’s mine, I got engaged when I was 21 and he was 22. It’s about a carat in a setting I had made by a local jeweler. The stone came from my mom’s engagement ring, but he had been saving for a while and had been working full time for a few months so he had budgeted about 10k before we were offered the heirloom

I like this thread! 🙂 Im 24, he is 27. We will be married when im 26 and hes 29. My Fiance started a new job in 2010 and saved like crazy. Last spring he bought a brand new F150, It didnt drain his savings but took a very good chunk of it. 6-7 months after the new truck he purchased my ring. He paid for almost all of it in cash and financed 1/5 of the purchase (I think). My ring is 1.5 ct. t.w I will be adding two bands when we get married, that will add .42 ct. All said and done in the end it will be a little over 6K for everything.
I dont think i will ever upgrade. I love my ring and when i get my bands im going to love it even more! 🙂

@kay_thunderbird: YES YES YES. TBH I already upgraded once. I plan to again.

@kay_thunderbird: 23 BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACHES
I actually work at an Auto Mall, helping crazy people buy cars from crazy salesmen as a CSR. I am an avid gamer, and as you may be able to guess a big LOTR nut. Well, universes in general actually. This ring fits me to the T.
My fiance saved all year to buy me this ring, using the money he made playing on the streets and from his other 2 jobs. What a darling

@jazzy14: I love your ring! So delicate and elegant!

@MASPA: beautiful! I contemplated a yellow diamond for a while & eventually decided on a sapphire instead. Your ring is lovely!

I will be 24, Fiance will be 25 when we get married in June. But we have been together for 10 years, met during our sophmore year of high school in science class. haha. My ring was affordable, about $800.
And here is a photo of my wedding set
ETA that my wedding band cost around $400, so still pretty affordable.

@soontobemrsm11: thank you! I love sapphires. they’re my birthstone.

@rachelmichelle: I always thought I would never upgrade but after a really long engagement he surprised me for christmas! I still have my old ring but my new one suits my personality to a T!

I’m 23 and Fiance is 24. My ring was $2,500 and he was able to pay it off in smaller chunks after talking to the seller! (It’s a vintage ring from Etsy!)

@heathuhhhhwebbbb: I hope this doesn’t offend you, but your ring is frikkin gorgeous and from what I can tell must have been expensive … how on earth did two college students afford that?! And why are you upgrading? It’s perfect.

I just got engaged last Saturday! 😀
But the Fiance is 23, I’m 22. We are both in our senior yr of undergrad right now, graduating this April/May! *WOOT* We’re both pretty well off, and the Fiance did do some internships (he’s a mechanical engineer) in the summer and also does real estate with his dad. The ring is actually more than what I expected. I’m in love with it and so thankful!
He got me a 1.5ct diamond Hearts & Arrows. I’m forever in love with it.

I got engaged when I was still in college although my now wife wasn’t. We spent very little on my ring by most people’s standards but I think it’s absolutely perfect for me. I don’t think I’d trade it for a 2 ct diamond ring … although if I could have both that’s another story. : )

@moonadea: Your rings so pretty! I love the color! I love seeing all the gemstone rings on here. I wanted a ruby but they are really expensive!

23, both graduated last year, working post-bac jobs. Ring is moissanite, $1500 for the set. We actually got our first super rude comment about it yesterday! We ran into a former co-worker, who congratulated us on our engagement, asked if there was a ring (which is already pretty uncouth), and then, upon seeing it, said “oh, I forgot he was a doctor” (which he’s not, yet…)
