@beetee123:  I got married at 21 ( 1 month before my 22nd birthday) did not want children any time soon. The thought of having them freaked me out and we were going to wait probably 7 years or so. Then…. Around a month after our second wedding anniversary something clicked and now I want them! Hahahah we are ttc now. im currently studying for my masters and have been working full time in my industry since I was 18 and own a home so I definitely feel prepared bit still! Stupid body… And stupid baby Rabies……

@beetee123:  I think most Bee’s know that I am SUPER young. My husband and I are so happy to be married but babies are a distant plan. Right now I want to wait till 30 while my DH wants to start at 25.

Hopefully we have two children after I am 25 and before I turn 33 🙂

I enjoy marriage and the fun that comes from being a family of two!

@beetee123:  I have these same thoughts! We just brought home our first pup and she is already a huge commitment 🙂

I like my freedom and I love my husband! I am so content right now and don’t see why I would add something to my perfect schedule.

DH and I were 24 when we got married but we had been together for 10 years so people automatically assumed we were going to start having children despite our age.

We don’t plan on even TTC for another 2-3 years. We want to have a house and be stable in our jobs. I just wave them off and say we’re not ready yet.

@beetee123:  My FI is 20 and I’m 21. We will both be 21 on our wedding day this May. We plan on waiting at least 5 years to TTC.

I want to get my Masters (just applied to programs – ah!) and he still needs to finish his Bachelors. We also really want to own a home before we TTC but currently  have no desire to buy a house. We love the duplex apartment we live in now and we don’t know where our careers will take us. But most importantly, we want to have a few years to spend with each other as a young married couple without having the responsibility of children.

Most people wait to have children where we live so we haven’t really gotten any comments. My FMIL would love for us to have kids right now but we’ve told her it’s going to be a long wait!

DH and I are in a similar boat.  I was 18 when we met, he was 21.  We dated for 5 1/2 years before we got married, we’ve been married for 1 1/2 years already, and are looking at probably another 1 1/2-2 years before we start seriously considering kids.  I don’t think there’s anything wrong or weird with waiting, we are enjoying being married.

my DH and I have been together since I was 18 and he was 20..we were married at 23/25 and we’re currently 26 (next week will be 27) and 29….we’ll be waiting until August/Sept TTC maybe a bit longer….so we won’t be having a child (earliest) 28/30…which is exactly where I would want to be.

I wanted to travel/explore and have lots of ‘us’ time before making that type of commitment/lifestyle change.

Before we got married my DH was like ‘I want kids when im 25’ which was in 3 years time (NOW TWO YEARS TIME!) and i was like ‘Oh not thats too young, i want them later, when ive been travelling and done XYZ yadadyadayada’.

I got married 6 weeks ago and oh my god do i have baby fever bad, and now hes the one who wants to wait a while. If it wasnt for the impracticality of having a baby at the end of my medical degree or in my first 2 years training (Foundation years), then i would be doing everything in my power to convince him that now is the time lol.
