(Closed) Younique 3D mascara worth it?

  • poll: How would you describe your Younique 3D Fiber Mascara experience?

    Heads up, not waterproof

100% waterproof, no smudging even in water or heat

I LOVE IT!!!! Refuse to buy anything else, totally worth the cost

Meh, it was cool and made me feel pretty but not enough to warrant a second purchase

It wasn't worth it, drugstore mascara gives me same results

Hate it! Worst purchase ever (please explain in comment)

I haven’t purchased it but a few friends have and they say it’s not worth it,it looks cute for a little bit but doesn’t stay on too long. I’ve also read a few articles(so idk if they are true) and some women have gotten the false lash fuzz thing in their eyes and had to go have it taken out.

I don’t like the fact that it makes the lashes look cakey. I prefer reg mascara or getting individual lashes put in.

I haven’t used it either, but my friend sold it and her lashes always looked horrific. Like big ol’ spider legs. And I’ve heard the same about getting the fibers in your eyes. It can cause corneal scarring and infections.

I have it and it’s a lot of work. Plus it looks like spider legs.

You put mascara on, then the special mascara gel/glue?, then the microfiber bits. These small things can get in your eye easily which is annoying. Then usually I brush out excess with a clean/dry mascara brush. Tons of work and the result isn’t natural looking. Better off using false eyelashes.

I haven’t tried it on my own eyes, but a couple of my friends have ordered it and it looks like spider legs on their eyelids and the fibers fall on to their cheeks as the day goes on.

I would rather do individual lash extensions than bother trying with the 3D fibers mascara.

I just started using it about a month ago, and it’s OK. My lashes need help. I usually layer on a couple coats of Benefit’s They’re Real Macara and then on top of that the Bare Minerals original Buxom. I can honeslty say, that and what they look like with Younique are pretty similar.

I don’t know if I’m just not putting enough of the fibers on or what… but my lashes don’t look like any pics I’ve seen, even real life photos.

I was thinking about trying it til a friend recommended Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. You can get a small tube for $12 or the full sized for $24. I love this mascara! I just bought it last week and I will never you another mascara again.

dk121915:  I don’t like spending $40 on mascara in the first place, so I had high hopes for this stuff.

The first time I put it on, I must not have done it right because tons of fibres fell into my eyes and was incredibly painful.

I used it a few more times, being careful to get enough gel on my lashes for the fibres to stick. The look was intense. It made me feel way too done up for daytime. And after a few hours, a few fibres fell into my eyes anyways. Again, very painful!

I used it maybe 5x and never again.

A fav mascara for $40 is by Arbonne.

Otherwise, I like the million lashes by loreal I think.

Ick no. I think it makes lashes look like fuzzy spider legs. I’ve been using Roller Lash by Benefit and it is AMAZING. Here’s what ONE coat does for me! (Not waterproof, but if you need waterproofing, I highly suggest the waterproof topcoat by Anastasia. It makes EVERY mascara waterproof.) This is not a fiber mascara– I don’t like those at all. I think they all make lashes look dumb.

it always looks very clumpy and fake on.  my favorite fiber mascara is the YSL faux cils.  i swear by it.

I’ve never seen a picture of anyone wearing it where their lashes didn’t look like a hot mess. That’s generally the case with all fiber mascaras, but this one is one of the worst. Plus – $40 on something you throw away after 3 months? Noooo thank you.

An ex-coworker of mine sold it and I thought it looked terrible on her. Super spidery. I use L’oreal’s Extra Volume Collagen mascara and can layer on a few coats to really pump it up. Then I use a little comb to separate my lashes if they get too clumpy.

I was going to look into this mascara, but heard that it leaves fibers on your face and can possibly get into your eyes. Nope, not me.. couldnt deal with that sh*t.
