Hi bees! Would love for you to share any fun/creative/unique ideas for date night with your husband! I’m making a “date night” jar to give to my best friend at her bridal shower on Saturday and am running out of ideas (would like to give her a full jar)! I’ve got the basics (dinner & a movie, couples massage, etc. and am hoping for some non-cookie cutter ones).
She lives in Philadelphia if anyone has any Philly specific ideas.

Cooking class, wine tasting, horseback riding, a picnic in the park, biking, theater, a blanket and pillow fort at home

Play tourist? I don’t know Philly very well but I’m sure there are lots of fun things to do that locals forget about, like quirky museums? On Monday we had half hour open bar on the Vegas observation wheel, we go gamble and try to check out the fun museums in town like Neon Museum and Mob Museum. Wouod Atlantic City too far or the Jersey coast for a quick weekend getaway.

Ooh those are some good ones, love the fort at home! (I’m so doing that). Thank you!
@theatrejulia – that’s a good idea, don’t have that one yet! I like it. Also, maybe hitting up a local farmers market on a Sunday would be a good one…
This project is giving me good ideas for me & my husbad too 🙂

Baking cookies at home (cookie cutters and all), visiting a nearby park or attraction (you could list specific things depending on what’s close to you!), kayaking, Build-a-Bear, those places where you make pottery, cooking a new dinner at home based on a recipe you find online together.
I don’t know what to call this one, but Fiance and I have done this a couple times: go to Walmart, dig around in the $5 DVD bin, and pick out a bad movie to watch together. It was fun! The highlight has been Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. haha.

The zoo! Spend the night at a hotel, fly kites, go fishing, go to one of those drive through Safari places (omg SO fun!), cave tours, swimming at the local community center, ice skating

Hiking, bowling, laser tag, mini golf, finding food trucks in the city, bar/pub trivia night, fairs/carnivals, arcade…we’re going to the Scottish Games in a few weeks that are being held locally (we’re in California). Lots of ideas online!

Hop On/Hop Off bus tour of Philly: http://www.philadelphiasightseeingtours.com/tour-detail?tour=13
Also – Bingo!! My DH went once by ourselves, and it was hilarious. It was at a legion and we were the youngest people by about 30 years. They all took it very seriously to the point where I won and I was too scared to call it out, lol! Thankfully, they let you claim at the end of the game, but your winnings are much smaller because it was shared with other winners.
Ooh, one more: bouldering. It’s really fun, and much less scary/intensive than wall climbing (my DH and I are not very athletic). You can’t be scared of heights though, because they make you fall back onto the mats from about 10 feet in the air to make sure you can do it. I did a quick google search and found this gym: http://www.govertical.com

Some recent things we’ve done for ‘date night’.. Sake tasting, went to a street food festival, went to a float spa, made our own pasta, planned an exotic vacation, went to an Indian cooking class, went to an amusement park. Bowling, exploring new areas, learning a new skill (we’re doing the e learning portion of our PADI certification right now), cooking classes, art galleries/ local installations, hiking are also other options.
My husband and I love food and drink.. Going out for dinner is always our go to, we love tasting menus but it can get expensive to do that every weekend so we like to make complicated food at home. Its not a cheap night but its cheaper than going out for dinner.
