We bought it with *our* money. Our finances were pretty well mingled by the time we got engaged.

I’m buying it as my wedding gift to him (and he’s doing the same with mine)

We just picked out our rings this past Saturday! The jeweler had to call me back with a price quote for one of the rings, so I went in there on Monday on my lunch break since it’s only a few blocks from work.

Even though my ring was 6x more than my FI’s, I put both on my credit card so we could just pay and order them and he is going to pay me back for the cost of mine.

In conclusion, I paid for his ring and he will be paying for my ring.

It was “our money.” We already had a joint bank account at that point.

He technically bought it with “his” money because we bought his and mine at the same time and it seemed silly to make the store do it in two transactions for the sake of tradition or something. But, we totally merged all our finances a couple months after that, so it was all coming from the same place anyway.

It’s a bit of a weird one. When my granny died her (very valuable, even by US standards) engagement ring went missing and last year we received the money from the insurance claim in the form of jewellery vouchers for a particular jeweller. We used those vouchers to buy both of our wedding rings (as did my cousin) along with lots of other jewellery.

So neither of us paid… sort of.

We stopped counting or caring who made or paid for what by the time we were engaged.   Technically I put it on my credit card and paid for it from my account so I guess you could say me.

We counted it as part of the wedding budget, which we paid jointly

I bought the first 2 (which didn’t fit properly) online, returned them both and made him buy the final one. I was sick of dealing with rings, so I let it become his problem.

We don’t really count who pays for what, and the ring wasn’t part of any budget. I just told him to get whatever he wants.. didn’t realize he’d pick a platinum one..
