This was my dream dress by Oscar de la Renta, I tried hard to find it but the ones being sold second hand all appeared with deflated ruffles and looked more like pirate wedding gowns because of it (in addition to NOBODY answering my enquiries on the preowned websites for this dress):

And this is the Lazaro gown I bought, I’m so in love with it, even more than my dream gown, so I guess I really found a new dream gown 😍 (I was also really happy about actually getting a new dress as I didn’t really want a preowned gown and was only considering it for the specific Oscar de la Renta):

ivanjelina :  :):) Thanks! Thankfully Paloma Blanca dresses run 2-3K as opposed to Amsale which is 5K+! I am so excited to get my dress.

freckledfrida :  The dress that I ultimately ended up having became my dream dress… Way better than the one I had thought I wanted for years!

The dress I thought I wanted (saved on Pinterest for years):

That Pronovias is lovely . That custom J’aton looks more like a pageant gown to me .

FauxPas2012 :  thank you! That was one of the things I loved about it… I felt like I “liked” a lot of different dresses but I wanted something that stood out instead of the typical strapless a-line or ballgown. And then tried that one and bam! Instantly fell in love with the lace detail haha

Once I saw the Katelyn dress I was OBSESSED with having a floral print gown (check my post/comment history – pretty sure it’s comes up like 50% of my post count). I was in love with it but it’s just not available in Canada and honestly, I was afraid of customs and brokerage to try and ship it from Australia.

But as much as I loved some of the more traditional (white, ivory and even blush) dresses I couldn’t help feeling that I would regret not going all out so I found some fabric I liked and it’s being custom made!

ladyvictoria :  Stunning! So much better and more flattering than the dream dress, at least in my opinion. Btw, I just saw a quick recap of the wedding video with the 16 brides, and gotta say this – you were the absolutely most elegant and beautiful among them! That dress is such a great choice, sexy, yet classy look. Well done!

I actually stumbled across my dream dress after I already purchased mine. I probably wouldn’t have actually bought it anyways (out of my budget), but finding it did make my heart sink a little!

And this is my actual dress (which I still am in love with):

I flipped out over this spread on once wed featuring Madison James. I tried really hard to find this sheath dress. I got close but it had cap sleeves the lace work was stunning! No one liked the cap sleeves and it just wasn’t right for my beach wedding. I saw this blue dress and that was it. I love it it but I did see this bhldn dress on Pinterest the other day and my heart pinched a bit. I love my dress but hate when I have that moment of oh look at that one, hmm
