My dream dress was the Vera Wang Gemma. 1st dress I ever pinned several years ago, and I always went back to it. I went to about 4 other stores to try on dresses….liked some, but could never pull the trigger bc I had my appointment to try on the Gemma much later. Soon as I put it on, I knew.
My dream dress was this Monique Lhulilier with a $10K price tag.
My actual dress looks nothing like it. Funny how that works out!
My dream dress in my mind was something a bit plain with stand out detail, like beading. But in reality, plain on me looked odd, and beading was so heavy and restrictive if it was form fitting. One dress I tried on, I looked a bit like a caberet dancer, with sequins and beading down each boob, good times.
In reality, I choose the lightest dress ever that came with a detachable tulle train which was the stand out detail I was hoping for. This dress has lovely lace illusion back, so it was sort of reminded me of my dream dress with the intricate back detail.
Always thought I would be a mermaid girl and wanted a Vera Wang Gemma (which I tried on and loved but it didn’t have the drama of my actual dress) or this Mori Lee gown (both pinned multiple times on pinterest)…
My actual dress… Vera Wang Katherine with Lace. Complete 360:
I was drooling over an Elie Saab peach dress (couldn’t afford it in a million years)
I wound up with a Jaimie Sortino dress that I love even more.
