Fun thread! Frankly anything by Temperley London was my dream dress but I really really love this one:

For one, the price tag was never going to happen as it’s like half of my entire wedding budget! And once we decided on a Destination Wedding I knew it definitely wasn’t going to happen.

I ended up with the Fox by Rue de Sienes (here’s me in it with no alterations yet):

BUT I’m now a (self-imposed) vicitm of dress regret and have fallen in love with BHLDN’s new Jacinda gown

pippapotomous :  How COULD you regret that beautiful dress!?  Look at the picture Pippa and survey perfection. It’s far more beautiful than your other contenders.

Never thought I would want lace but ML’s Scarlet was the only dress I even liked…had it pinned for a year….and wore it for my wedding.  It was the perfect dress for me!

Fell in love with the Love, Yu gown, but never actually tried it on. I think it’s a past season? I ended up hating alines on me, and ended up getting the Nicole Miller Dakota with a Jenny Yoo beaded topper.

Just ran across this thread and I know it’s about a month old, but it’s so much fun and I want to join! Sorry for the giant pictures!

My dream dress was the Hayley Paige “Hayley” gown, but the dress was too much for my petite frame (I’m 5’2″ and size 0). It was too heavy and I didn’t feel like it was “the one” when I put it on. It wasn’t the look I was going for (even though I thought it was). It’s beautiful though!

I ended up choosing the Wtoo “Anastasia” gown! I absolutely fell in love with it, it was everything I was looking for! The lace, the sparkle, the sleeves… ugh 😍 and the fit-and-flare style really helped accentuate my figure. The sample is a size 8 so it was way too big in certain areas, but I can’t wait until my dress comes in so I can finally see it in my size.

  • Wedding: August 2017 - Rome

I love this thread!

We’re getting married in Rome in August so always wanted something cool that wouldn’t cling to me.

I loved Maggie Sottero Montana below, but the style didnt suit me (it made my hips look really big!)

Maggie Sottero - MONTANA, Refined elegance is found in this decadent Orlando satin sheath wedding dress with a deep V-neckline and daring, plunging back. Swarovski crystals adorn the waist and dust the shoulders. Finished with zipper closure.

I ended up getting Rosetta Nicolini – Hawaii without the train. I didn’t want to try it on but the sales assistant insisted and I just burst out into tears (I don’t normally cry!). It chose me, not the other way round. Can’t wait to wear it! Image result for rosetta nicolini hawaii

My dream dress was the Oscar de la Renta dress that Jenna Bush wore.  It’s stunning and I still love it, but I’m happier with my actual dress, which is the Savannah gown by Anais Anette.  It’s unique (and a fraction of the price, which doesn’t hurt!

So…. when I first went dress shopping, I had found a gorgeous, a-line, David Tutera for Mon Cheri dress in blush… I had never seen anything like it, and until I ran across it on Pinterest, I had never considered any color in my dress except ivory.  So I tracked the dress down with full intentions to buy it that day, and when I tried it on, I hated it.  I mourned that dress!! So because I was there, I tried some other dresses.  I found a Maggie Sottero dress that fit perfectly and was so beautiful (my mom and sister were having a fit and wanted me to buy it) but I wasn’t in love with the lace pattern.  So the salesgirl showed me another dress in the same exact style/designer, different lace, with champagne underneath, and said it also came in ivory over…. BLUSH!!! I was in love with the pics & it was everything I wanted (left pic).  But even though she assured me it was the same fit, I couldn’t spend $2k on something I hadn’t physically seen on my body.  Dismayed, I tried again the next weekend at another salon.  The lady helping me eventually brought me the dress on the right (an Essense of Australia dress; blush, blush and sliver lace).  On the hanger, I didn’t like it.  I was like, “no, too much bling, just not my style.”  She said, “oh come on, just try it!”  So I did, and when I got to the mirror, I completely froze.  I think my friends and the lady were really concerned because of my face, but then this weird feeling started creeping up on me & I burst out in uncontrollable giggles! It was so embarrassing but I seriously couldn’t stop.  I was so giddy!! So I bought the dress and it became my new dream!  I had to change my whole wedding theme for it but it’s worth it! πŸ™‚

Ps. don’t judge the dress too much on my chubby, 5’2″ frame next to the 6 ft model!! lol

Both Hayley Paige, but I bought mine as a sample so I spent $3k+ less than I would have if I had gone with the dream dress. Kinda bummed because I adore the Hayley gown, but there is no part of me that could justify spending thousands more on my “dream dress” after I found a beautiful dress I love at a price I could swallow!
