My fiancee and I are getting married at the Pavilion in June 2013. The location is fantastic if it suits your tastes. It lacks much of the luxury of an all-in-one type banquet hall, but then again you have the ocean as your backdrop and a very unique building to hold your celebration.
Susan D’Agonstino is the main contact at Rocky Neck State Park responsible for managing the venue. She is an incredible help, a breath of fresh air after meeting with many other venue managers. Susan provides images and an information packet on the venue which answers most of the questions and covers the big questions (cost, vendors, logistics, limitations). Susan was friendly, helpful, and very accomidating. They do allow alcohol but check with the park for details. They were very responsive to us via email if that suits your needs.
Most of the professional shots below use the grassy areas in front of the pavilion for the ceremony. There are a any number of ceremony setups that the park allows, so contact the park for details to schedule a tour.
We stumbled on the park one weekend many years ago and said it would be an interesting place to get married, if that day ever came. Years later, the occasion arrived and we tried, like you, to find info on the venue, so I included a list of sites that we found helpful.
CT DEP Main Page for the Pavilion
Flickr and Picasa albums showing various images
Professional Wedding Photographer Albums – many of these give a good taste for the interior of the building
Last but not least, our own wedding site has a lot of info on the area, feel free to check it out.
This page give an over, with some colorful commentary, on the park (towards the bottom).
Hope that helps, congrats and good luck.
