i just started looking around at maternity stores at clothes, accessories, etc for when i start to grow (im only 7 weeks at this point). i am APPALLED at how expensive alot of the major maternity stores are, and not even that cute. anyone has suggestions for maternity stores/maternity sections of regular stores that they stuck to during pregnancy? anyone happen to be in the atlanta area and have a local fav?
thx! happy new year 🙂

I really like Pickles & Ice Cream but it isn’t a national chain (only 9 locations) and doesn’t have an Atlanta location but they are online. I have found that for me, the brands Japanese Weekend and Olian fit very well. Maybe check where brands similar to those are carried in your area so you can try things on. I was also encouraged by friends to shop Ann Taylor Loft maternity. They are online only but the quality it typically very good. I hated looking in the usual stores, Motherhood Maternity and Pea in a Pod for example, since the customer service was lacking. I’m one of those people that gets frustrated easily when shopping and if I don’t have good customer service I usually walk back out with nothing in hand. I’m willing to pay a little more for good customer service. I’ve made it through my pregnancy so far (32 weeks today) with 3 bella bands, 3 pair of pants (one pair of jeans, two slacks), 7 solid color tops, and 2 dresses and don’t plan on adding anything else if I can help it since they are all mix and match. Maybe look for a local boutique in your area like Due Maternity so you can go and try on brands and styles to see what you like and then shop online to find some better deals. Good luck!

I am only 7 weeks right now too, but I saw this website http://www.kikisfashions.com. They have cute and reasonably priced maternity clothes! Check it out!

I bought almost all of mine at Kohl’s and Old Navy.

Macy’s has a cute and reasonably priced maternity section. They carry Motherhood brand items, which fit well and were affordable. They also carry some Pea in the Pod items, which are pricey.

I really disliked Pea in the Pod- thought the quality was awful for the price.
I love my GAP black pants and wear those all the time to work, and you can often find coupons. I have two pairs of jeans from Target and liked those a lot too.
I LOVE finding good consignment stores with maternity stuff- this place is in the ATL suburbs, but might be worth a look: http://www.tadpolesatlanta.com/
and this one is right in Buckhead: http://www.sweetrepeatsatlanta.com/

Definitely check out Gap maternity and also Forever 21 just recently came out with a maternity line online. I hated most maternity clothes and only bought what I absolutely had to, a few pairs of pants and a few tops. The rest of the stuff I wore was larger sizes of regular clothes-tunics, tanks, and cardigans work well.
