I’m going to Trader Joe’s tomorrow, and I was hoping to get some input from you all on what the best items are. I’ve gone before, but I’m sure I missed some great buys! Life is pretty crazy right now, so I’m really looking for some quick and easy meal ideas (frozen is perfectly okay!), as well as some new snack and seasoning ideas.
So, what are your go-to items from Trader Joe’s?

One of our favorite easy dinners is cauliflower pizza with pomodoro gnocchi, both from their freezer section. Done in 15 minutes and so good. It’s eliminated a night of actual cooking for me every week haha.

Chimichurri vegetables and rice (frozen)
roasted red pepper tomato soup
combine both in the crockpot and it’s an amazing filling soup!!! I buy some frozen garlic naan to eat with it yum!
I always buy a bag of frozen chicken tenderloins and shrimp
cauliflower pizza is good I top mine with some buffalo chicken I make
Reduced fat Mac and cheese

Frozen mac and cheese is godly. I like their frozen asian food as well (pork buns, gyozas, etc.). Their fresh revioli is yummy too!

Turkey corn dogs, uncured pepperoni pizza, orange chicken, scallion pancakes, vegetable bird nests, tempura shrimp, any of their cookies pretty much(except I may be a minority but dont care for the joe joes) french vanilla ice cream, frozen hashbrown patties, frozen sweet white corn, any fresh ravioli, carnitas…
Those are some of our favorite things we repeatdely buy! There is so much more I would like to try though. Ive heard great things about the Indian frozen meals.

They have such good wine for such good prices!! Except where I live, grocery stores can’t sell wine, so we miss out on the best part of TJs 😫😫😫

I love their bagged salad mixes. My fav is a broccoli kale mix, comes with dressing and toppings. I also love to buy their cruciferious bagged mix and use it as a salad or stir fry it. Their Everything but the Bagel seasoning is good on everything, seriously. I also like their 21 seasoning salute as an all purpose one. They have amazing chicken sausages, but I’ve found their meat to be pretty pricey compared to a regular grocery store on sale.
I’ve found they have the best prices on things like coconut aminos, fish sauce, rice vinegar, etc. so it’s worth checking out.
I also like their tea tree shampoo and conditioner, and their dog treats. 🙂

The only thing I like from them is Spicy Chi Latte mix and macarons.
Everything else I have tried gives me the runs and stomach cramps.

I love Trader Joe’s!
From the freezer section:
Mandarin Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Tempura Shrimp, Cauliflower Rice Stir Fry, Frozen Cherries- I love to snack on frozen cherries and Trader Joe’s are the sweetest!, Cilantro Chicken Wontons
Bagged Butter lettuce-I know it’s just lettuce but they seem to have the best price/quality, Crunchy slaw Asian chicken salad, Pesto Gouda, Roasted Red Pepper Soup, Everything but the bagel seasoning, Powdered Ginger, sunflower seed butter, three cheese pomodoro pasta sauce, dark chocolate covered almonds
Theres also the beloved Cookie Butter but I can’t keep that in the house. It’s just too good!

For dinner they have this rare roast beef that is fantastic! And so easy! Pop it in the oven for like 15 min to warm it up. I made it for my Fiance while we were dating and he was very impressed with my cooking skills!
Also, I get all of my meat and cheese from there. I also get pickles, their thai chili lime almonds and other nuts there (truffle marcona almonds are a special treat!)

Lemon Ricotta Ravioli, in the refrigerator case somewhere between the cheese end and the produce end.
Shrimp Toasts (finger food appetizer) in the freezer section.
Everything bagel spice mix.
Olive tapenade in refrigerator case.
Good prices and selection on wine, cheese, nuts.

Their frozen tamales! And the bags of frozen brown rice are a life saver! I love their box of butternut squash soup. And the bread mixes. My son’s favorite treat is the cinnamon raisin bread. I pretty much love everything from TJ’s.

Frozen rice. And garlic naan (back when I could eat it).
I like the everything bagel seasoning. I put it on egg, chicken, and potato salad mostly.
I like the Carolina gold bbq sauce. I normally prefer sweeter tomato based bbq sauces but haven’t found any there I like yet. But the Carolina gold is really good on pork or chicken.
I think it is the omega 3 trail mix makes a good addition to salads (think it has dried cranberries, pistachios, walnuts, and pepitas). I usually do that on top of the cruciferous crunch mix.
I like their gluten-free frozen waffles better than other brands. And the strawberry jam and lemon curd are both really good.
I also really like the goats milk cheddar.
The Indian meals (the shelf-stable ones, not the frozen ones) are really good for meals in a pinch, especially the lentil dal and the Jaipur vegetables). I’m pretty sure they are the same brand as in other groceries stores (they just have a deal to do private label for them) but so much cheaper. They are 1.99 at my Trader Joe’s and usually 3.79 at the regular grocery or Target.

This post is making me so hungry. I really like their sweet potato gnocchi and their frozen meatballs.
ETA: Also, they have these chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels that I could live on.

kawood0618 : Everything there is good! Their fresh cheeses have great prices–we love the goat cheese with honey and the pecorino. Their frozen orange chicken is AMAZING. Not super healthy, but probably healthier than takeout. We really like their frozen pizzas and flatbreads.
They have so many “pre-prepped” foods that are still healthy–prechopped veggies, low guilt guacamole, frozen dinners, pre-seasoned meats, sushi, etc. Their marinated salmon is really good. Frozen turkey meatballs, dried fruit bars, frozen brown rice, herb salad mix, Kale Pesto, Apple chicken sausages. Also, their bouquets of fresh flowers are SO well priced ($5.99 for a dozen roses, $3 for a petit bouquet, etc.). I’ve gotten into a habit of buying myself fresh flowers every week. And their wine/cider/beer selection is inexpensive and yummy.
I live in NYC where the Trader Joes are always mobbed and you can’t get a parking spot. I’m one of those nuts who wakes up early on Sunday mornings to get there before it opens. There’s always a line that wraps around the building, but at least I can get a parking spot!
