What vitamins are you taking that have really made a difference in your mood, skin, nails, energy, etc?
I have just started taking the following supplements: chewable iron, gummy calcium, b-complex, st. johns wort, folic acid, biotin, fish oil, psyllium husks, and melatonin to sleep at night.
I’m most excited about the biotin since i have really thin hair that falls out like crazy.

Unless you had deficiencies before, vitamins shouldn’t make a big different in your mood, energy, skin, etc. Remember that their purpose is to supplement an already healthy diet.
My favorite multi-vitamins are New Chapter (http://www.newchapter.com/). I take the Perfect Prenatal, my husband takes the Every Man.
For individual vitamins/herbs I want a little extra of, I take Solgar brand (http://www.solgar.com/). Except Vitamin D, I take a liquid one from Carlson (http://www.carlsonlabs.com/).
And for fish oils, I like Nordic Naturals (http://www.nordicnaturals.com/consumers.php). I take the Prenatal DHA & my husband takes the Omega-3.
I buy my vitamins online from Amazon or VitaCost, it’s cheaper than directly from the manufacuter’s website or from regular stores.
I would remind you to really evaluate the reasons behind taking certain vitamins and see if you really need them all. It’s possible to get too much of a good thing.
And also be aware of side effects. You mentioned melatonin, which is actually a horomone and not a vitamin, if you take it too often your body will come to rely on the pill instead of making it naturally. The herb St. John’s Wort will significantly reduce the effectiveness of BCPs. Etc.
For most people, a multi-vitamin, fish/krill oil, and vitamin D will have your bases covered.

I just take One-a-Day chewable gummy vitamins (the one with omega because it is super healthy for you). I do know it helps me throughout the day to just stay awake and motivated. I can’t say it has really helped my hair, skin, or nails. I just take care of that myself. I also take a pro-biotic acidphilus for my digestive health and it’s great to help put back good bacterial to lessen your chance of getting yeast infections.

My favourite ones are the ones I get from food. They are tasty and no need to have to remember to take something in particular that day. Unfortunately, food isn’t enough and I do take B12 and D3. I did notice a difference after starting the B12, so of those 2 that’s my favourite.

@abbyful: I am anemic and since I started tracking my diet, I’ve noticed that I’m also just not getting enough nutrients like zinc or some of the important B vitamins. I generally eat very healthy but I suffer from some terrible food allergies, hence the vitamins. And my doctor actually told me about the melatonin as a substitute for Lunesta so I could establish some sleeping habits. Thanks for your advice though!
