This is weird, but it’s a hell of a workout, if you get Fat Chance Belly Dance’s Tribal Basics volume one, that’s a belly dancing tutorial that focuses on arm, belly, back and chest movement…it’s very mellow, but fun, interesting and makes me sweat like crazy!

Oh my gosh, I love workout DVDs! I have so many but only a few that I do regularly. I love:

-Any of Jillian Michael’s DVDs. She is annoying as heck, but her workouts are so effective. I mute her and put on iTunes after I learn the workout. I like 30 Day Shred and Yoga Meltdown. Both are a little shorter in length but still a great workout. Her Ripped in 30 is shorter too, but I cannot stand her in that DVD for some reason!

-Pretty much anything by Acacia. I love, love, love CoreFusion DVDs. So effective, so short and great results. I recommend Body Sculpt especially. I’ve had for over 2 years and still do it.

-TurboJam DVDs. Great cardio and ab work. I am currently obsessed with Fat Burner, which is a 30 minute, pure cardio HIIT workout. Love it. I get all my TJ dvds on Amazon; way cheaper than ordering them through BeachBody.

-If you like Pilates or yoga, I recommend Weight Loss Pilates with Kristin McGee…its amazing.

and for yoga, a lot of stuff by Shiva Rea. She is super new-agyish in her narrative, but they are great workouts.

I also find the reviews of workouts on Amazon really helpful. They also have trailers for most DVDs.

Wow, that was long! Anyway, good luck and great job!

ETA: I forgot to add that bodyrock.tv has some great workouts too. They are a little, er…obsessed with a certain body type, but still effective.

My favourites are:

Jillian Michaels – Kickboxing or Yoga. The yoga is intense and i love it.

Shiva Rea – Daily Energy Flow, its awesome because you can mix and match your work outs.

I also love Zumba, maybe you could take a class once a week?

I just got Jillian Michaels’ “Banish Fat Boost Metabolism” (yeah, stupid name) and it’s really great.  It’s about 45 minutes long and pretty intense, but varied enough that it keeps me interested.

Jillian Michaels’ Killer Abs and Killer Buns & Thighs. I don’t think she’s really that annoying (although having to listen to her say the same thing over and over gets annoying); she gets funnier in the newer videos.

I just started Insanity.. and it is insane! I am in pretty good shape to start with, just ran a half-marathon in September, love to run, bike, spinning classes, etc..

But now that it’s colder outside and that it can be hard to go to the gym because of the baby, I wanted options for inside…

I tried P90x before, which is quite effective, but I thought it was boring (too long, not moving enough).

I’m hoping to shed a few with Insanity and from what I can see, it works!

I usually don’t buy workout DVDs, because my favorite ones are free!

8 minute bun/8 minute abs are BY FAR my favorite workouts out there. I (try to) do them twice a day, and add jumping jacks and plenty of water.

@mommytobee:  I satrted that too!!! Went 1 month, and didn’t tough it again. That thing is tough!

Just as a side note, I didn’t actually purchase Insanity….so my first statement is still true 😛

@mommytobee:  I LOOOVE Insanity!  It’s so much fun!  When I’m needing a little bit of a breather I do Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred.  I also love Beach Body’s Brazil Butt Lift!

I do T-Tapp. It’s short (only 15 minutes) but I see results. I plan to pick up Zumba DVDs when I’m next in the US. Postage to here is FAR too expensive!
