Loving all of these!!   I was in college from 1997 – 2001 and the backless shirts were all the rage for going out to the clubs.  I look back at the pics now and cringe in horror – what were we thinking!?!?

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I love my skinny jeans…. I don’t ever want flares to come back in style!  Skinny jeans (but not lycra tight skinny jeans) + heels = me feeling incredibly sexy!  ๐Ÿ˜‰    Check in with me again in 10 years and we’ll see if I’m still saying that!

I feel SO friggen old.  None of you will probably relate to me at all

My highschool?  Think Breakfast Club/Pretty in Pink/Less Than Zero. That was highschool.    I thought Madonna – Like a Virgin era was the shit and tried to dress just like her complete with mesh shirts and lace gloves.  To be honest, i have SUCH fond memories of highschool and I still kind of secretly love the fashion and most def love the music from back then!

Lucky me my school had uniform, but I so remember seeing all the stuff mentioned on this topic.

Of all the things I think I only wanted a tiny purse backpack but I got a bigger leather one which was really nice thinking back but still ‘not small enough’

Those big wide elephant jeans that swept on the floor with the frayed hem was the worst, those and bell bottoms (when they were super tight at the top and flared) and long jean skirts, ugh.

@Oneeleven: I can relate!

As for the jeans, the skinny jeans haven’t looked good on me since high school when I was about half the size I am now.  Okay so that’s a bit of an exaggeration but still.

I admit to still wearing jeans that are semi-flared.  Nothing extreme, but I hve a plus-sized hourglass shape and I’m tall enough (5’8″) that a slight flare at bottom with a lower rise waist does great things for my figure!

Who remembers tattoo chokers? I wasn’t allowed to wear one for the longest time, but I finally convinced my dad, and then I went crazy and got a whole bunch, including bracelet and anklets. I thought they were the coolest things ever.

Again I feel OLD.  Lots of what the majority of y’all are talking about here on this thread are things my son (19) lived through.  I remember him wanting the JNCO jeans and the huge Tripp pants from Hot TOpic and I remember scouring the thrifts and ebay to find them because I couldn’t afford them new… and just as soon as I scored some for him he changed his mind and decided they were “lame poser pants”.  ๐Ÿ˜›

And he never wore skinny jeans but often commented on guys his age who did, and the girls who did too and got the “muffin top” as a result. ๐Ÿ˜‰
