… is to help me make an affordable list of Chicago venues to go see!
I’ve jumped back into wedding planning now that I have a little more time, but with a new goal: to cut back our budget. We had previously agreed on this gorgeous space because it has a perfect ceremony location (marble staircase/lobby!) and reception hall included in the rental.
The only problem is that it’s still really expensive and the wedding would have to be on a Sunday in order to cut down costs. For most of our guests, that would be a problem since they’re coming from areas 1-3 hours away.
So I’m searching yet again. I’m okay with outdoors but wary of it, as Chicago weather is notorious for being unpredictable and, well, odd.
My other favorites so far are the Garfield Park Conservatory, West Loop Studio, and Prairie Production. The venue has to comfortably seat up to 200 and I’d love separate ceremony and reception spaces if possible.
So will you Bees help me? I am at my wit’s end… at this point I am up for any venue within a few hours of Chicago as long as it’s a) not a church and b) got that just right feeling. I haven’t liked any of the country club/event centers we’ve looked at, and the hotels in our price range are all a little, er, dingy.
Our price is flexible based on how much is included, but we’d like to cap off our total budget at about $30,000 for 190 people or so. Bees, please help! I’m starting to feel like it’s impossible around here with all the required caterers and insane add-on fees.
