futurejewell2017: My mum’s engagement ring which was my paternal grandmother’s before her. I now wear it as a rhr. It’s a very dark untreated sapphire flanked by two old cut diamonds, in the original platinum setting.

My mom’s is pretty classic.

I don’t have a photo but she has a solitaire paired with a 5 stone band.  Something like this…

My mom’s is a 3 stone in white gold. two 0.5 carats on the sides and center is 1 carat.

However, she is currently in the process of upgrading to a 2 carat solitaire (a lot like mine, lol).

My parents are from a rather poor eastern European country. My dad didn’t buy her an engagement ring, and they didn’t have wedding bands.

When they moved to Southern California 25 years ago, my dad got my mom a thin 2mm milgrain yellow gold band that he paid $75 for. About 10 years ago, he got her a thicker 4mm yellow gold band. My mother wears both now and loves them.

Her first wedding band (the thin one) is almost idential to my wedding band, which I bought specifically because it looks like my mom’s band:

samballina:  I love the illusion setting, too! It’s so delicate. I wish you could see the basket in the picture I posted — it’s my favorite part of the ring.

Souzie:  I had it reset recently using the same diamonds. My 5 stone band was an old setting and some of the prongs needed replacing anyway, and I wanted a new look so I decided to go for a reset!

futurejewell2017:  don’t have a photo, but she has a 6mm wide heavy-weight court-shaped ring in 22ct yellow gold. No engagement ring, but she does sometimes wear a 0.33ct diamond 3-stone ring that we bought her for her 60th birthday.

I know it’s hard to tell because this is a pic of a pic, but my parents on their wedding night. They had matching bands.

My FI’s mom’s wedding set.

Both of my parents and FI’s mom have passed away, so we used diamonds from their rings in my setting!

My moms ring is like this with a 4mm plain gold wedding band that sits flush. I love it for her.
