we have a list of music for cocktail hour and dinner, but for the dancing part of the reception we are pretty much letting the dj do his own thing. we are giving him this list for ideas, but they aren’t necessary “must-haves.” we do have a “no-play” list though that includes rap and anything by michael jackson lol. we also have about six slow songs picked out.

save a horse ride a cowboy- big & rich
shook me all night long- acdc
edge of glory- lady gaga
sweet home alabama- lynyrd skynyrd
boot scootin’ boogie- brooks & dunn
pour some sugar on me- def leppard
good time- alan jackson
old time rock and roll- bob seger
don’t stop believing- journey
cupid shuffle- cupid
livin’ on a prayer- bon jovi
alcohol- brad paisley

I’m not sure yet (FI is more into the music than I am), but Signed Sealed Delivered is going to be our recessional! So I like that choice 🙂

We played songs by the Vitamin String Quartet during our cocktail and dinner hour and people LOVED it; in case you don’t know what VSQ is, they are a quartet that covers mainstream music. It’s beautiful and fun, your guests are listening to this beautiful quartet then realize, wait a minute, is this Lady Gaga?!?!? I had SO many people come up to us and tell us how clever that was. 🙂

My must play list is so, so long. We’re only allowed 10 in the system, but since I’ve worked with our DJ before, he told me I can have up to 20, and everything else has to be “prefer to hear.” Sigh, haha.
