I dont think its tacky, but I say if its what you want go for it,…no idea how much something like that would cost though

I had non functional buttons all the way down on my dress. Nobody thought they were tacky. People just commented on how much they loved the buttons. I think Darling Husband would have been frustrated if he had to mess with buttons on our wedding night lol.

    I LOVE the look.

I just know that we got married at 6pm and I was up at 5am, and felt like I never had a relaxing moment the whole day.  My dress was just a zipper dress and if I had to wait around for someone to button 100 buttons I would have lost my mind. LOL.  (we had to get married at the courthouse that morning for our wedding to be legal and wasn’t it wonderful for my uncle to book his flight for the morning of my wedding??? SO  I had to go get him at the airport)

If you have the time and someone willing to button them up.. GO for it!!

I wanted real buttons as well until I talked to a seamstress & she told me how much more difficult it would be and how much more expensive if it needed to be taken in or adjusted… I eventually just went with the fake buttons & like PP’s above then it’ll be easier on the man!

This is one of those details that nobody else will ever notice, so if I were you I wouldn’t worry about it. It looks nice the way it is.

@mylittleviolett:  I don’t personally have an opinion about whether or not they’re tacky, but I will say this:

My mother had genuine buttons all the way down her dress (HUNDREDS of them!)  She told me it took her bridesmaids HOURS to button them.  Seems like you can get the same look and spend more time having fun, if you ask me!

@mylittleviolett:  I would have picked another dress! Honestly, nobody is going to sit there and think “Those aren’t real functioning buttons! I hate it!”. Everyone will focus on how happy you are.

Mine has functioning buttons that cover the zipper, it needs the functioning buttons because if not the zipper isnt properly covered I think, I havent actually done the buttons up yet because well, there’s like 50 of them lol I do completely understand that it drives you crazy if they’re not functional because well I have a hard time justifying things just because they’re pretty (this does not apply to shoes). I would actually base all this on how much it would cost to put the loops in and the cheap person in me would justify the nn functionality vs price lol

I have the Casablanca 1914 that I’m turning into a slight mermaid and putting buttons on them from the top to Right after my butt. I love the idea of a buttoned dress, functional or non functional. 🙂
