Ok so mine wont be “pre-wedding” really bc I dont want to be the bride who goes downhill after the wedding but this is what Ive got going so far…
1) I wont be the tanned bride. Fiance likes my natural olive skin.
2) Im trying to grow out two summers worth of SunIn so my brunette comes back out
3) Ive gotten back on the healthy eating/jogging (except today-stupid pms) bandwagon. I dont need to lose any weight at all but I feel better all the way around when Im taking care of myself
4) trying to remember to exfoliate every day, use sunscreen, and keep my skin healthy
5) I would like to cut coffee bc it makes my belly bloat but we will see on that one lol
So anyone else? Has the wedding and your future role as wife changed how you take care of yourself or been motivation to begin taking better care of yourself?

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Other than exercising regularly, I adding in exfoliating and moisturizing everyday. But that is pretty much it. I don’t plan to tan either even though I am super pale because pale is my natural color and it means I will have healthier skin when I am older (my granny wore hats religiously and had beautiful creamy skin well into her 60s.)

I always like to make sure my skin is looking its best, so I will just continue with my regular routine versus trying something new. I don’t want any bad reactions! I use St Ives exfoliating face wash and Clean and Clear moisturizer. What I will do though is try to keep up with my waxing for the next 6 months… I’m just so lazy! I’m trying to wax most of the hair roots out of my armpits because gradually it comes back less and less (happened on my bikini line). If I keep up with that I’m hoping to have super nice smooth pits by the wedding haha. But it’s such a pain growing sit long enough to wax… really limits my clothing choices. I will get my legs professionally waxed the week of the wedding too, it’s awesome for the tropical honeymoon.

@lilFaithy: I’m trying to consistently eat healthy and exercise. Wouldn’t mind losing a little weight before the wedding. I went for a facial the other day and now washing and moisturizing my face every morning and night. (I always washed at night before but got lazy when it came to moisturizing.) I also just bought a deep moisturizing treatment for my hair. Just tried it out tonight so not sure how it works yet.

Ugh. I will not be a tan bride either. I always think its so weird when everyone in a photo is a “normal” skin tone and then the bride is crazy tan – especially if their wedding isn’t in the summer!
I’m mainly just exercising regularly, which I was already doing anyway. I am doing some extra skin care as well, but thats about it.

I have a pretty detailed skin care routine regardless of what I’m doing so I’m keeping up with that. I’ve been active for years so going to the gym 5-6 days a week isn’t new for me. I exfoliate my skin in the shower on a regular basis. I do my feet and pedicures about once a week and nails twice.
I’ve been drinking more water lately. I don’t need to tan. I’ve been wearing SPF daily since the early ’90s. Can’t think of anything else right now.

Definitely no tanning for me either! I’ve been washing my face every day, and started using a few other skin care things like serums and moisturizing oil. I also always wear SPF!
I’ve been working out with a trainer to try and tone up my arms and back. I can definitely see some defintion, although with the wedding 2.5 weeks away I’m running out of time!

3.) South Beach Diet
Definitely not going to tan. If I showed up at the wedding tan, no one would recognize me.

Mine was working on my eyebrows. My eyebrows were a complete MESS from over plucking for about 20 years, and my MUA sent me to a friend of hers that does them. I can’t believe how much I’ve plucked throughout the years and I’m having such a hard time growing them back in certain spots.
I also made sure I didn’t skip any appointments with my derm.

@EffieTrinket: I asked my doctor for Accutane, but he refused to give it to me. He said I didn’t need it & he wasn’t going to get stuck with a law suit lol. I was also kinda afraid of all those side effects. I’m on 3 meds that work, but I thought Accutane would be like a cure.
How’s it working out if you don’t mind me asking?
@Rubbs: I have had almost no horrible side effects–my hair is still thick and plentiful as it ever was, I haven’t had any real digestive issues, I obviously haven’t killed myself.
However, it has DESTROYED my lips. Every day, the top layer of skin peels off. If I don’t exfoliate it off, I can’t make facial expressions without that layer of skin splitting and bleeding. So off it goes, with a loofah or, if I am not lucky, I have to peel it off manually. It’s like having a sunburn on your lips, but the skin is thicker. It’s also given me eczema-like symptoms around my mouth. (I have had minor bouts of eczema before, so it didn’t GIVE me eczema. But it does seem to be exacerbating it in the lip region.) I feel like the scabbiness and peeling will stop when the medicine stops. Most people seem to report that being the case. It’s kind of an awkward problem, though. I always feel like people think I look like the Joker.
But aside from my mouth, my face is beautiful. I will seriously stop and look at my reflection in shop windows and the vanity mirror in FI’s car. Not that I’m especially beautiful, or anything like that–just that, for the first time since I was 8 years old, my skin is perfect. It’s even taken care of a lot of the scarring, to the point where what used to be a craterous semi-mess is now almost smoothed out. I used to have to wear heavy concealer every day. Now I don’t even wear foundation.
If you know you need it, I’d try and find another derm. Just make sure you stay current on all of your blood work and the like. I wish I’d have done it long before.

@EffieTrinket: I actually saw a different derm a few years ago that wanted to put me on it. But I never went through with it.
Do you still need to use prescription products?

Well I had a chin length bob when he proposed in 2010 and walked down the aisle with long (well past shoulder!) hair.
I spent the last few months being careful not to develop tan lines, resulting in wearing factor 30 most days. And even bought a boob tube for sunbathing in!
Mostly just tried to maintain my (not usually particularly regular) moisturisation/exfoliation/face mask routine and drink lots of water.

@lilFaithy: I wouldnt exfoliate everyday that could make your skin produce too much oil. Try 3x a week first.
I just started using Proactiv since my skin was going nutszo. I had done everything else and it wasnt helping. I went to Proactiv as a last resort and its been 2 weeks and my skin is super smooth and clear! So happy I did that. I would like to start exercising again next week. Just to tighten things up again. I have gain like 10 lbs so I may not lose all that but I will tone some of that back up. I get my eyebrows threaded, no waxed. I might get a spray tan but Im not really sure cause Ive been so fair the past few years I dont wanna look weird. But I dont want to blend into my dress either! I am getting my teeth zoom whitened 2 weeks before. It was free with the 6 month smile braces I did almost a year ago. I use eye cream daily and moisturize of course….yep.
