Oooh I can finally add to this!

My original ering was a simple pave solitaire but we had trouble with the setting being uncomfortable and not very well made. So, after just a couple weeks we decided to get it reset into a custom halo! I really liked the original look but I’m absolutely in love with the new one!

Original ering after a super quick engagement was .33 in white gold and my upgrade ring is .72 in platinum. I love my new stone but not a massive fan of the setting so thinking of resetting in a cushion halo eventually 🙂

My original e-ring was bought with the intention of one day designing a custom setting for my blue diamond.

    New (same blue diamond center)

the first picture was taken in better lighting.

I love this thread!! So cool to see everyone’s upgrades! I just upgraded my ring for my 20th Anniversary. I had a half carrot marquise that was on plain 14k yellow gold band with a plain wedding band. I used same center stone for sentimental reasons but moved it to a completely new setting. New setting is a 6 prong platinum head with 14K white gold rings with 19 princess cut diamonds on them. Pictured is my current upgraded ring, my original ring and then my original ring next to the new ring before the upgrade (and before the jeweler switched the head)

bunnyharriet :  I had to find an old pic of my original ring on this site ha! First ring was an heirloom from DW’s grandma – an uncertified .65 carat round brilliant. My 5 year anniversary ring is a 1.51 antique cushion cut in a custom rose gold solitaire setting. Same wedding band!

I have upgraded through the years. After nearly 20 years our situation has changed from young just starting out kids to business owners. My style has also evolved and changed.

My old ring was a simply knife-edge solitaire. My new ring has the original ring’s diamond but has a halo setting with diamonds on the band.

The old ring was what we could afford at the time, and I loved it then even though we both knew I would upgrade once we were in a place to do so financially. I LOVE my new ring, it sparkles like crazy!

I don’t have a picture of my old ring, but I do have a picture of the new one.

HomeschoolingBeeof4 :  your new set is absolutely incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it. Wow. Not typically a style that I’d be drawn to, but yours is so captivating! It’s gorgeous.
