Since the start of engagement i have been facing this BIG difference between ppl. Some believe your bridal makeup should be COMPLETELY different (I am from Middle east and in Mid East and south Asia brides wear full face of makeup) they like to think you should have a makeover for the day….so i get these comments “you should wear more eye shadow and do an up-do” “you should wither straight your hair or have looser curls”..etc
then there is the opposite side (the one i agree with). Who believe in the “blushing bride”…yourself just he best glammed up version of it..if u always do heavy eye makeup soften it up..if u r more on the natural side keep it soft and natural.
there is the alternative which falls in between with the classic Hollywood glamor look of simple eyes and darker lips of course which if you can rock that look GO FOR IT 🙂
And i personally do not like when i go to the wedding have known the bride for a while and the ONLY reason i recognize her is because she is wearing a wedding dress!

I’m doing everything as I usually do, but kicking it up a knotch by adding some false lashes (mine are short and light) and little hair under my own thin/fine hair to make the curls a little bouncier. Other than that…keeping it the same. I’m not a big make up person, so I want to look natural.

I don’t mind seeing someone go in a different direction from their day-to-day look but seeing a plain-jane going drastic and dramatic might be weird.
It’s funny you post this. I have had 2 makeup trials and I want different from my day-to-day look but I am realizing, my everyday look works really well for me. So at my third trail this weekend, we are scrapping the “heavy contoured eye” and “subtle smokey eye” and just doing a special version of my everyday.

I’m all about a glammed up version of myself. But i wear a fair amount of makeup on a regular basis (powder, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, shadow, mascara), so glamming myself up did involve lipstick, more eyeshadow, false lashes, good foundation, etc. I still looked like myself, though. Any good makeup artist worth her salt can glam you up while you still look like yourself. Unless you’re digging a slightly different look for the day of or something. I change my makeup up quite a bit, though
But i did want a fancy updo, too =]

@Champagne Wishes: I know what you mean it is surprising when you realize how amazing your day to day look can be..and u know what? there is a reason you trust that look so much cs it works for you 😉
@ejs4y8: You are staying true to urself and that is what matters…and there is nothing wrong with a fancy up-do if you do that often or for special occasions…for me it gives me a head ache (most things do have that effect on my head) and it is not me at all my hair is always down (well 96% of the time) 🙂
