ralessio :  noone’s saying it *isn’t* a halter, just that the halter is not the defining feature – the huge expanse of bare flesh is!

Never thought I’d go for a plunging V, but here I go! haha I wanted long sleeves, but any dress I tried on with sleeves or fabric all over the top just swallowed me whole. I sometimes wonder “eeeh what will I think of this dress in 20 years” but those over-fabric-ed gowns of the 80s are modest and…hilarious in 2018. I think a deep V can be tasteful; believe it or not, my grandmother is the one who chose this gown for me 🙂 I do think that this particular Vera is different just because of the shape — I think it’s a gorgeous gown but a simple halter with a high neck might have been better. Maybe you can have a custom top made for it or something! I will say – just wear what you want and what YOU think you look good in and what YOU feel comfortable in. Everyone is going to have an opinion, a lot of people will dislike lots of things at your wedding, but DO WHAT YOU WANT <3

Generally, I like halter necklines but I am not a fan of that particular dress.

It also looks like it would be uncomfortable, with the weight of the dress pulling against those skinny little satin strings.
