My Ao Dai was not red nor pink because I didnt have a traditional Vietnamese Wedding’s ceremony. My family is in Vietnam. Just wore Ao dai for the civl ceremony and had it in dark ivory lace. The pants are silk. I had it made in Vietnam and sent to Holland few days before the wedding. It fitted me well.

Based on this design (without flowers in front)

I received mine from AoDaiVinh.com in Vietnam.  My aunt lives there, so she placed the order for us but had them ship to me in Colorado.  I must say I was nervous hearing about other women’s experiences ordering from this company, but I trusted my aunt to essentially “supervise.”  I guess she popped into their shop more than once.

I sent in my and FH’s measurements and requests in late December, with them giving us an estimate that they’d be done in early March.  Well, we were notified they were done Jan 26 (my aunt sent us pictures), and it all arrived via DHL with the headdresses on Jan 31.  Super quick!

I’ll post more pics with details later.  Overall I’m very happy!  There are some things where I noticed Ao Dai Vinh took shortcuts on my outfit (not very happy with the snap buttons along the right shoulder, but I’m going to add some yellow frog closures myself), but it all ended up being cooler than I expected.  All embroidered, and the beads/sequins were sewn on (nothing painted or glued).  Everything was perfect on FH’s ao dai (he’s wearing Dockers slacks as we didn’t ask AoDaiVinh to make pants for him).

Sorry, they’re a bit wrinkly as we tried them on straight out of the box.  You’ll noticed I requested a custom “train.:

I ordered mine from aodaiheaven.com

And they were great to work with. Communicaton via email was timely and it took only a month to get it from Vietnam.
