@Worchester, my fiance’s parents went to Clemson, my fiance went to Clemson, and his brother and sister went/go to Clemson.  Thankfully no one has whined to me about conflicts with football.  Maybe they’ve whined to my fiance and my fiance knew better than to tell me.  I would actually hurt them, if I ever even spoke to them again.

Haha, my hometown’s newspaper just published an article about the blogger who wouldn’t be best man in his friend’s wedding because it conflicted with UGA’s football schedule.  I am trying my darndest to work around UGA football (my FH, myself, about over half of the bridal party are all UGA grads) but UGA’s bye weekend in 2010 is after the time change, which I wanted to beat, so I could have an evening/sunset wedding.  But, I did manage to schedule my engagement party during the bye weekend THIS year!

My best friends cousin actually had to switch her wedding last minute a few years ago because of the final four NCAA basketball game!

I can’t imagine!

While I would not plan a wedding on a Ohio State or Tennessee Football game day, for it is just sack religious to do so, apparently I should have looked at my schedule and not planned my wedding on a NASCAR race for Saturday night. My whole family and friends sat and watched the entire race including the freaking 2 hr prerace the whole night and never once came out and spent time with my husband and I or his family. NICE. Something I will always remember.

I knew I wanted a fall wedding-the nicest time of year in Mobile.  The problem is October and November are host to the most important games of the SEC.  Alabama fans here; family and friends have season tickets.  I couldn’t find a completed 2010 schedule so  I’m gamblling with September 25, 2010.  Knowing that the all important Alabama v. Tennessee, LSU and Auburn games will be held in October and November is a breath of fresh air.

I am a huge sports fan, especially football so my Fiance and I scheduled our Wedding around the start of football season.  Our rehearsal dinner is even a sports theme!

It will be a summer wedding for this FSU fan.

Plus even if I didn’t mind it being on a game day EVERWHERE would be booked and crazy.

I was a little worried about my team’s football schedule when planning.  Especially because I plan to go to a particular game this year and I was worried it was going to be the weekend of the wedding.  I lucked out and it isn’t.

I also had some guests, including my brother, joke that they wouldn’t be at the wedding if their favorite team had a home game that day.

since my husband is an NFL coach, we obviously couldn’t have our wedding during football season! We basically had 2 weekends to choose from in order to go on a honeymoon after. It all worked out great though!

I was actually at a wedding this fall when the Bride allowed the tv to be turned on in the hall so that they could watch game 7 of the stanely cup…that shows the love…my boyfriend and i have suggested getting married feb 2011 the night before the superbowl…we both really love football and the thought of postponning our honey moon one day to through a kickbutt superbowl party appeals to us!

When you’re a Nebraska/Iowa bride the first thing you do is pull out the football schedules to make sure you’re getting married on a bye week.  A lot of friends have had huge "fan areas" where they could watch tha game if they did have a wedding on a ame day.  Crazy!  That’s why we’re getting married just before FB season starts.

Ideally all sports would be avoided (esp. any type of finals event).  But since we have no power at our venue (tent) I’m not too concerned with them bringing in a TV like they did for my FSIL’s wedding (during NFL playoffs)!
