@Miss Tattoo: Maybe this could be our petition to ban the word for it’s numerous offenses?

I absolutely LOVE this thread!!  I’m so tired of worrying if things I did were “tacky” or not…who the heck cares?!  I wore gloves at my wedding…outdated and tacky?  Whatever, I loved them so I wore them!!  I wore disco boots under my dress for a portion of the reception…tacky?  Well…I sure had fun.  As long as you love it, it shouldn’t matter what others think!  Well said OP!!!

And the PeeWee picture…yep, that completely made my day!!!

Love love LOVE this post!  There are so many things that I am doing at my wedding that other brides have called tacky and absolutely awful!  It makes me self conscious about my wedding, but why should I care if these people call me tacky!  Its my wedding!!!!

Side note: I hope no one is seriously going to run around the Hive posting “AHHHHHH” every time you see the word “tacky.”  That seems really immature to me.

When I was a little kid I thought people ALWAYS meant “sticky” when they said tacky. I didn’t grasp there was more than one meaning.

When people say my DIY flowers are tacky I’m going to smile and say “why? They’re not coated in Elmer’s.”

Sweet! My TACKY combination of beaded mantilla veil, chandelier earrings and heavily beaded bodice on my dress works! As will my Honeymoon registry and my Terminator themed walk down the aisle. WOOT!

Oh I know there are going to be tacky elements at my wedding. We are having bottles and cans for drinks in ice filled tables… It was either that or fight with my mom over a slushie machine. Not going to happen. But we are having snow cones for the big kids as well as the little ones 🙂 I could go on and on about what other people consider tacky. I don’t have a big budget so we are making do with the best that we can.
