I’m not sure what the OP’s motivations are (troll or otherwise…) but I guess I’ll put in my two cents.
What I would really like to see re: weddins is people spending within their MEANS. This means that if you are making a combined $50k/year, you probably should not be throwing a $30k wedding(unless you have wealthier parents or something like that).
I have known too many people IRL (and also, from reading the posts, on weddingbee) who spend thousands of dollars on a wedding but end up with no savings, no house fund, or – even worse – lots of debt.
A wedding can be a lot of fun, but when it comes down to it, it really is one day in your life. I think some people lose sight of that fact in their efforts to have their dream princess wedding.

Wow! I am so shocked to see that this post had so many responses. I thought that weddingbee would send me an update when someone responded but apparently not. I am completely sorry for all of you brides who are offended by my post that was not my intention. I simply wanted to pose a alternative point of view. One that most people, magazines, and such will not tell you! I wish now that I would have worded it differently, especially since so many of you took it the wrong way. I am not judging you personally. This is just something that I feel pretty strongly about!
I cant respond to everyones comments but I will say to Mrs.Banana- I think that is so great and so cool that you are giving back to your community and friends! That is a great thing to do to hire your friends and pay them the price that you would pay for established musicians.
I will post pictures of my wedding for all those (few as you were) who asked to see! I am very excited. We are getting married in 2 weeks! There was one bride on here who said something about how her and her Fiance have grown together in the process of making goals- I think that is just great 🙂
I also wish that my guests did not exceed our immediate family and closes friends. If I could have it my way that is what it would be! Somehow, between my mom and his mom the guest list just kept growin! Everyone has their own wedding style- Im just saying that you dont have to spend a lot of money to make the day special.
