The only thing that’s okay to say about someone else’s body or looks is “How lovely you look!”

You look amazing and good for you making healthy changes!

I’m so sick of this BS where people feel they can “skinny bash” but if you said the same thing about overweight people all hell would break loose. I feel as a general rule then people shouldn’t make comments about another’s body size.

I’m thin and people have always felt entitled to comment on it. The worst was at high school when people used to accuse me of having an eating disorder which was so far from the truth. A collegue who is very overweight made comments about how skinny I was for years, and not in a nice way, and eventually I said “I’m happy with my body. Are you happy with yours?” and that shut her up forever about the topic. If they want to dish it out then they can learn to take it too imo. xo

You look great, and healthy. I think a sudden change is just more noticeable that people make comments.

You look fantastic! As long as you’re taking care of yourself, and feel good, and losing the weight and keeping it off in a healthy way, then screw them! They’re jealous. Period.

You look healthy physically and sound healthy mentally. It’s likely that most people are jealous and maybe a few are genuienly concerned if you’ve lost this weight very quickly. It typically means serious health problems if someone loses a lot of weight without acutally trying. So if anyone seems genuinely concerned, assure them that the weight loss is due to your better eating habits and new love for running. As for the jealous people…. don’t let their comments bother you, you know you’re healthy and that’s all that matters

Ugh. I hate that people think just because you’re thin they’re allowed to comment on your weight. You look fantastic and you should be proud of yourself! It’s a huge accomplishment to lose that much weight and keep it off, along with all of the lifestyle changes you made. Sometimes I feel like those comments are a misery loves company kind of thing.

happyjuju :  This is SUCH a great response! Love it!

OP – I’m your height and this weight is perfectly normal for your size. You have a slender frame that was obscured when you were carrying some extra.

Like a lot of others here, I think it’s inappropriate for people to make comments about your size/weight unless you bring up the subject and invite a response.

There is such a tendency for people to associate moral or value judgements to a person’s physical condition; it’s a shame, really.

You recognized an unhealthy pattern, and took steps to change things. Your body responded to this by shedding weight. You haven’t done anything extreme to achieve this end – it’s just the way your system works.

You look lean and healthy. You seem to have a great attitude and the right approach with your “balanced” perspective on food. What other people think about it is irrelevant.

Hope your race went great!

londongirl1988 :  you look fine but if you’re worried definitely talk to a doctor. They can assess how you’re doing. A lot of runners have slim builds like you. Also, I struggled with binge eating too. If I was home alone I’d eat ALL the chocolate, ice cream, candy, etc. Now I buy less junk food and pace myself so it lasts all week for both my husband and I. Moving in together really helped me because I see my bad habits as more greedy than bad for me. And I want to share everything with my husband instead of being the person who eats all the ice cream and deprives the other.

You look healthy and amazing! By The Way everyone’s always got something to say when you lose weight. I got a lot of those comments from my in laws after I lost about 20lbs. I would tell them, “I’m not skinny, I’m fit. There’s a difference.”

You look amazingly healthy! I’ve gotten the “too thin” comments all my life and HATE them (5’10” and 120lb and eat like a linebacker). It’s so frustrating how people freely (and often hurtfully) comment on smaller sizes and seem to think it more acceptable to do so than to do the same to curvier sizes.

People who make negative comments about other people’s bodies are jerks who aren’t worth listening to.

You look amazing. Not too thin at all. I agree with the first poster, they may be a tad jealous especially considering you were slightly overweight before. You’ve worked hard to get here, so please dont let comments ruin this. I’d go shopping instead. 🙂
