So what, I might be doing such a thing…but does that make me a bad person? no.
So bees, here’s the deal:
I have pretty short hair, and am trying to grow it out. My hair grows extremely slow, and over the past year I have purchased a few long wigs to wear so I wouldn’t cut my hair. I don’t always wear them, just when I’m tired of my hair and want a change.
I was thinking however, of purchasing this gorgeous long red wig to wear on my wedding day. It looks realisitc and is comfortable because I am used to them. It is expensive, and high quality, so I’m not worried about it looking fake in pictures or anything like that. But I mentioned this to a relative and they said, “Really? Why would you want to do that, I mean, it is your wedding and you’re always going to have pictures.” Uhh, duh! That’s the whole point!
I want my hair to look PERFECT and be the way I want it too…so I find nothing wrong with wearing a wig if I feel like wearing one. No one has questioned me wearing any of the wigs I have now, in fact one of my friends had thought that I had gotten extensions! I know what I’m talking about, and it irks me when people think that I’m dumb or something of that nature, just because I want to wear a wig on my wedding day.
So, thought I would vent a little bit, and get some opinions from any bees out there that have experimented with wigs or anything like that. If anyone has any pictures or websites they would like to post or recommend about wigs, I would appreciate it. 🙂

Wear what you want to wear. If you feel beautiful in a wig, go for it. My sister-in-law wears wigs (she has alopecia) and they look great, and I know they make her feel great too. Who cares what they say!

Considering you wear them on a regular basis, I think it would be odd if you didn’t wear them! Is the red wig your SO’s favorite? If I was wearing a wig I think I would want it to be one that both suits me the best but also was my FI’s favorite.
You rock that wig no matter what anyone says!

I am wearing extension on my day. I have very thin, fine hair and no matter how long I grow it it’s not going to help for the style I want.

I say go for it!! it is your day.. You can do and wear whatevef you want, and the wigs now people can not even tell they are wigs.. Celebrities wear wigs, weave, extensions all the time.
Enjoy it and enjoy your day 🙂

I agree. It’s your day, do what you want. Besides, if you wear them all the time, it’s a norm.

I think I would want to look like myself for my wedding, so I might hesitate to wear a wig, but it sounds like you wear wigs occasionally anyways so it’s not like it would be completely different than normal. In the end, though, it’s up to what makes you feel nice 🙂

I think if it’s something you do and are comfortable then do it. I know for me… even getting extensions is out b/c I wouldn’t “feel” like me. BUT sounds like wearing them isn’t foriegn to you at all…. It’s your day and their your pics… do what YOU want =)

I’m having hair extensions put in because my hair isnt long enough for the updo that I want… you should just do what you comfortable with, who cares what other people may say

awe thanks bees! it’s nice to have all the support 🙂 And they aren’t foreign to me at all haha I’m pretty used to them, and most family and friends are too.
@Koala Bear: And yes, the long red one is my fiance’s favorite. 🙂 he loves it on me, and thinks I look gorgeous with the darker red (since Im a natural redhead anyway) But I’m really considering going and buying it right now! I really really do want it, regardless of whether or not I wear it on my wedding day. haha

@agirlwithdreams7: Awe thats cool! Lol since your a natural stunner [my own version of redhead ;)] I don’t even think it should even be that big of an issue for you to have a relative comment on… *sigh* but regardless you are going to be gorgeous I just know it!

I’m probably going to wear a lace front wig too. Who cares. ^_^

If its what you want, do it. Its your wedding! One thing to remember though is to wear one that you think you’ll still like in 20 years. ie. not one thats too quirky, if you think you wont like that later

@Koala Bear: awe thanks 🙂
@Miss Tattoo: That’s cool:] do you have any recommendations on places online to get good wigs? I’m skeptical about ordering one online that I can’t try on first. lol
@kingytobe: I understand, and trust me, I won’t be getting anything quirky haha. Just a long elegant wavy wig, something that I know will always be in style (the hairstyle of course). lol not one of those crazy tight curled, pink wigs or anything like that. 😛
