- Wedding: November 2012
I’ve been very, very good at keeping it zipped when it comes to anything engagement/wedding related and have even been able to avoid reacting to other peoples wedding talk and I think its finally paying off!.
Last week we went for a walk in the early summer sun and from nowhere I asked him where we were in the whole moving forward thing, since its our 3 year anniversary in less than three weeks (which is also the timeline he came up with back in November for an engagement) and so naturally I’m feeling nervous/excited/wonderous about whether or not he was going to keep to his promise.
He said that he named June for the timeline because he’s due a healthy bonus from work and he should get it, assuming his boss doesn’t screw him out of it with a lame excuse for why he can’t afford it. (His boss is a ****) anyway… he went on to say that he’s got every intention of sticking to his promise and if he doesn’t get the money then we’ll use a diamond we have already to make this happen.
Then the best bit!… he said, “I know I’ve made you wait, you’ve waited long enough”…we continued walking arm in arm and spend 20 mins discussing what sort of wedding we’d like and what we’d sort out first (the venue) . Then he said, ok that’s enough talking about it, just look forward to it now!
My SO and I are closer and happier than we’ve ever been together. We have a better understanding of each other, better communication and lately we laughed together more than ever before.
I feel incredibly calm about the latest revelations and even though its pretty imminent, I still can’t picture the proposal, telling people or planning a wedding, it still feels so far away!
There is no reading between the lines here, after a year on the Bee and 3 years in the making, I think its nearly time!
