I’ve always LOVED chocolate-covered strawberries that I had at a wedding once.  I realized that they’re easy to make.  You can get the chocolate packets at Michael’s for $2 and have the chocolate melted down and the strawberries dipped in them.

Any wonderful sweets! Gourmet type chocolate-dipped pretzel sticks, petit fours, cupcakes, candies…

Oooh, I like the idea of gourmet chocolate covered pretzels.

We thought about soft pretzels and a local soda like Frank’s Black Cherry Wishniak Soda – both Philly favorites!  I just couldn’t think about how the get them packaged and fresh with an early afternoon wedding. We nixed the idea even though my husband and best man offered to package them up that morning.  What great men!

I also love to get wedding cake or cookies as favors.

I love the local tricks.  We’re actually doing a play off of Victory Brewery and Iron Hill – a nod to our favorite beer and something local 🙂

I think we are going to do the s’mores favors that Mrs. Strawberry blogged about a couple of weeks ago.

I LOVED apples that were dipped and decorated to look like brides and grooms. Fiance and I wanted them for our wedding but they are ridiculously expensive so we are going with just regular caramel candy apples. We are getting married in September (2010) so it will go with the season and the caramel will actually match our wedding colors of brown, gold, and champage!

Since our wedding is at the end of October in Minnesota we’re doing caramel apples in a cello wrap with a pretty bow and stamped note attached. We’re trying to keep as much of our wedding as personalized as possible and since I practically grew up at a local Apple Orchard we thought it was fitting 🙂
