Hello and help!
I won an entire day’s wedding photography from Yuna Leonard but she is now backing out and will not compensate in any way, or provide a substitute photographer!
I’m trying to get more information on her besides her number and email, so if ANY of you brides have anything, please help me out! My wedding is in August and as of now, we’re photographer-less! Eek!

Sorry to hear about this, but this isn’t uncommon. New photographers offer these contests to get fans and promote themself, but then they throw in the towel because they can’t sustain a business on minimum income, cheap packages, and freebie givaways.
Do you have a contract? What does the fine print say?

Aww that’s sad to hear!! I hate when photographers do that. We offer a contest to help a couple in need every year but I see a lot of photographers do this because they want a paid wedding. It’s not nice at all! Sorry I don’t have any info just wanted to say sorry 🙁

@USER876: There wasn’t a “contract” but I have all the emails with her stating a full wedding coverage; and this was back in April of 2011! We were thinking about legal action but not sure whether it’s worth it. We have until August so maybe ? It’s just already stressfull situation, I’m not sure what to do.

The fact that you let this slide for almost a year without a contract is where you went wrong. Without a contract, you have no recourse, and no protection. At this point, your energy will be best spent trying to find a new photographer. I’m so sorry this happened!! That sucks so much!!

Wow, this is disappointing. I hope you post detailed reviews of your experience all over the web (Yelp, WeddingWire, Google) so other brides know what a jerk she is!

Is she still in business?

@crayfish: She was the first vendor I had contact with, I totally forgot the legalities of it all. The fact in itself of just winning a photographer blew me over; I didn’t even think this would happen.
She’s still in business, as far as I know, and charges an arm and a leg too for regular prices – so I don’t know HOW she is actually. I think she charges about 5g for her best package ?

I don’t have any advice but I just think that is so rude of her! I wanna go on her website and tell her how horrible she is for crushing someone’s hopes like that. I don’t get how people do rude stuff like this :-/

@heyyitsliz: I’m sorry to hear this! I had a wedding photographer disaster, and when we thought we lost all of our photos (because he disappeared)- we found Galaxie Andrews. Now have gorgeous photos that we love and cherish! Her style is similar but better! Than yuna leonard. Maybe you can send her an inquiry to see if she is available to shoot your wedding! I highly recommend her. She is very professional. http://Www.galaxieandrews.com
