I gave a 1 carat black and white diamond ring from Zales. My fiancé got it a year ago in a size six but I changed to a size five soon after that. I just wore a ring cushion from Claire’s for a year and I just got it resized via Zales a month And a half ago. First off, when I turned it in they said 2-3 weeks. I didn’t get it back until 5 weeks later. Now I just got it back and the middle diamond is loose so I have to resend it back. Im so frustrated with them, is it possible to just ask for a ring out of store for equal or lesser value in exchange of my current ring? And has anyone had problems with Zales? Thanks in advance for your answers!

@tobemrstaddesse: Idk if the would let you do that. Its typical for prongs to be loose after they are resized if they forget to check that part. Progs are a simple problem to fix…

Zales used to have jewelers at most of their locations that could resize and fix the prongs in house but within the past year they have reduced the number of jewelers and locations that house jewelers so the store you take it to most likely has to ship it elsewhere.
What we did was call around and take the ring to one of the shops that actually had an in-house jeweler and got it back in a week. It was a longer drive but it saved a lot of time because they only send off jewelry on certain days of the week so there is a lot of wait time.
