Speaking of bad experiences! I had a horrible experience with Robbins Bros. too! They were so rude and snotty. Wouldn’t show us anything. Decided we could only afford one ring, grabbed the biggest diamond for it. Didn’t go over the 4 c’s at all and took my SO back to this room to twist his arm into a credit check. When he said no we were just getting ideas…they brought out a second guy (yes, totally used car management style)…to ‘help’ him with his decision. It was condescending and overall an awful experience. We left feeling completely deflated…not exactly the experience I was expecting.

My SO was so mad on the way back he told me, “you need to put a nasty post on The Bee about this. That was ridiculous.” Guess he wanted to save other Bee’s from having a bad experience too.

Those chain stores always have mark up. Always check online for anything!

The same thing happened to me and I got Mr. Shefs ring for $60 online. Here is the thing they DON’T tell you. It isn’t insured! When you purchase it in store they add in the insurance for you. When you purchase it online you get the ring, have to take it and the packing slip to the store and then buy the insurance seperately. I didn’t realize that. It is a pain in the butt when you are at work when they are open. You can’t buy the insurance online.

@Okole Maluna: Sorry I just saw this!  Thank you for the recommendation!  I actually already have my e-ring.  We had a bigger budget for that one, so we went to a wonderful local jeweler who is NOTHING like Zales.  Again, I don’t have as much a problem with their products as I do with their HORRIBLE service.  They’re great when you’re buying the ring and after that.. err..
