I think its one of those themes that could be awesome or over the top too much.

I think going for a “wild vegetation” look with extra large ferns as centerpieces could be great, but going for bananas and monkeys would not be so great.

Maybe use different rain forests for your table names?

Here is a thread from awhile ago.  The wedding was also at the Brookfield Zoo (I’m assuming it’s the same one?) and there were lots of great ideas given on the thread!!

I think lots of greens could be really pretty.  It is up to you how zoo-y you want to get. I am getting married at a Science Center, cocktail hour is in the dinosaur room so the escort cards are going to be flat, with a little plastic dinosaur on each, but then outside we are going for a more elegant look.  We wanted to pay some homage to the dinosaurs!  I’m interested to hear what you ultimately decide on!

There  are several different directions you could go:

tropical

garden

make topiaries of different animals

birdcages with or without flowers

pots of herbs

peacock

black and white

and of course- favors

Instead of table numbers, have “animals” as the tables.

For the Table title frame a picture of said animal, maybe a litte fun fact about them?

I like the animal crackers as a favor. Especially if you have kids at the wedding.
