I have workout ADD, too. It’s awful.

I do Zumba at home, but I do videos off YouTube. They’re fun, actually, even though I really suck at them.

@Brideonabudgetlauren:  Any chance you could try a new class somewhere….?  Just to get your engines roaring?  I’ve never been a march it out kind of girl, so it has to be something fun, social and off the beaten path.

i have the zumba game for wii. i love dancing games and wanted it just for fun, not really for the work out aspect of it. i’ve never done a zumba class or any kind of work out program, so i don’t know how it compares, but i really like the game. it’s a lot fun and definitely good exercise 🙂

@Brideonabudgetlauren:  I do! I live in the middle of the country and nowhere within an hour offers any fitness classes, so my husband bought me that exact set! (I wish we would have got it at that price, though!!!)  I’ll be honest, I’m in fairly good shape and some of the more advanced CDs ARE challenging! Like, I drip sweat.
The pros to doing Zumba at home: You can free-style a little bit and nobody will be laughing at you. I do my workouts in the morning and looked like a hot mess.

The cons to doing Zumba at home: I think the idea of Zumba is a “party” which means there are several people involved and everyone’s having fun. It is not fun to do it alone. I got burned out within like 2 weeks. I asked a friend to come over and do it with me (you’ll need a big workout space for this!) and it was more fun then.

As far as workouts go, it gets the job done!

@vorpalette:  +1

We have internet on the TV and I pull up those free zumba videos and go nuts. It’s not as fun as when I attend a class, and I’m not as hard on myself, but it gets the job done.

@Brideonabudgetlauren:  Stinky!  I’m sorry!  I like to get out, try new things, make a complete ass of myself and new friends at the same time….nothing equalizes a new relationship quite like trying to do stuff your body doesn’t know it’s capable of!

I haven’t done You Tube yet, but I have Zumba for the Wii, and I love it!

I have this set and I love it.  I went to Zumba class for years at my old job (they brought in people to the gym there) and when I had to leave I had the sadz.  And Zumba up here in person is very… white lol.

I would recommend getting a Wii or a PS3 and get video games that way.  They are usually pretty cheap on Amazon, and you can switch them up anytime.  I looooooooove the Just Dance games for PS3.  I can go like to 2 hours on that bad boy if I have the time!

I wondered too if doing Zumba at home would suffice.  I’ve gone to the classes (maybe a handful of them).  They have the lights dimmed, a disco ball going, the music is really loud – kind of like a club.

If you did You Tube, you’d just have to get all your songs lined up ready to go in different tabs so there was some kind of flow to your work out.  Then do some warm up ad cool downs before and after – with the high intensity songs in the middle.  It would take a little preplanning.

I have a way of getting the computer to display on the big screen in the basement.  I may give this a try!

Dance Central and Just Dance look so much fun, but I don’t have those gaming systems.

@Nona99:  LOL march it out… ah reminds me of old workout video’s my mom used to do at home. 2-1!… and 3-1!… and 2-1!… I have on idea why they said that but the sound of it is forever implanted in my mind!
