I just purchased the Zumba game for playstation move. I did the workout and I didn’t feel like I got as good of a workout as I do when I go to the gym. When I did Zumba, I worked up a little sweat…If I were doing ellyptical or running, it would have taken only 5 minutes to get the same amount of sweat going. Does anyone else feel like going to the gym gets you a better workout than Zumba or vice versa? I have heard a lot of people say that Zumba is a good workout, so that’s why I decided to try it. However, I was let down by it! 🙁

It all depends on your instructor, for sure. I’ve had some glasses kick my butt so hard I couldn’t walk, while others left me barely winded. Just ask around your gym about the different instructors and see which one is the hardest if your goal is to drip sweat.

My Zumba instructor is a complete nut. After 10 minutes we’re sweating… and it feels great! I agree with PP that it depends on your instructor. I also find it to be more fun which makes me want to do it more than going to the gym 🙂
FWIW, my instructor wore one of those calorie-counter things during one of our classes and she burned 1200 calories in 60 minutes.
