I just found out our campus gym has started hosting Zumba classes and I’ve seen that logo all over the place. Just wondering if anyone’s tried it and had success? I’m at my wits end with trying to work out and never seeing results.

Hi, I really enjoy Zumba and I am one of those people who has a hard time getting motivated to exercise. I have not done it consistently enough to see any results solely from Zumba but I would certainly recommend trying it. It is a lot of fun to do and you sweat like crazy as long as you put your all into it.

Oh the only reason I don’t do it more consitently is because of the time that it is hosted here. If it was at a more suitable time I would participate every night 🙂

I presonally think it is a waste of money. All it is is dancing and I can do that at home for free…lol I have seen the ads for it, I would not pay for it all. Good luck with it though.

LOVE Zumba. Love love love love love love love! My gym added it back just as I was getting married/ going on my honeymoon/ moving 800 miles away and I’ve been too lazy/ cheap to find a place here that has it, but I TOTALLY love it. It’s way more fun and more structured than dancing around at home- I get bored when I do that! Totally worth it, especially if it’s included in your student gym fee!

I personally don’t think there is much weight loss to be had from it. I did it for about six weeks, once a week (as that is all my gym offers) and for me it wasn’t a huge workout. It can be fun (if the class isnt too crowded – my gym squeezes us all in like cattle) but thats about it.

I’m actually certified to teach Zumba, though I was a fan long before I took the seminar/class. It’s SUCH a blast. It’s so much fun, it’s the best workout. You definitely get your money’s worth, I notice a lot more tone, and it will really work your endurance. It’s super good for whittling your waist because of all the hip action.

I LOVE Zumba, well, atleast in my own livingroom with the curtains shut VERY tightly. I am a 100% white girl with NO rythem what so ever. I’m still trying to get the courage to take this class at my local gym…

I just took my first Zumba class this past weekend and it was crazy intense! Best part was that I didn’t take it a gym. It was held at a dance studio and you pay as you go. So my suggestion for people is to look up on the Zumba website where classes are held near you (like an elementary school for example) so those without a gym membership can still try it out.

I just sarted Zumba and love it. It is an excellent workout and it is FUN!! Don’t worry about the steps, just move. It has only been a week, but I definitely feel it in my muscles. I agree that it works the abs very well. I take it at a studio that you can pay per class or save by purchasing a monthly pass. Right now I do twice a week, but plan to kick it up to 3 or more times per week. I would definitely suggest you give it a try. With any workout, it is a combo of eating and activity to see results. I’m still working on the eating part. LOL

I love Zumba as a motivation to get me to the gym. It’s super fun if you make it. I’ve seen girls get frustrated by more challenging moves and kind of give up, so clearly you’re not gonna get a great workout if you come in with a bad attitude. I wouldn’t say it’s a fabulous weight loss workout (compared to other aerobics classes I’ve taken) but it gets me to the gym and working out for one fun hour is better than none.
